Podcasts
This class podcast episode was created collaboratively with a partner (and shared with consent). This episode is an autoethnographic study of the student culture of Auburn. This episode was apart of a series of 15 episodes created by groups and individuals in the class, each with their own topic but under the same theme. I showcased this work at Auburn University's Brains on the Plains event.

This class project consisted of two parts, a multimodal project and an accompanying essay. For the multimodal aspect of this assignment, I created an interactive map. This map contains markers across the world that allow you to explore how the world of Bram Stoker's Dracula looks when applied to the real world. The map shows locations like major plot points, paths of voyages in the book, points of culture significance at the time, and character origins. The map is coded by color and icon. To view the map, follow this link: The World of Bram Stoker's Dracula - Google My Maps. The accompanying explanation essay is attached above and provides additional commentary on the importance of location throughout the novel and additional cultural analysis.

Professional and Public Writing Capstone Assignments

For my capstone in Professional and Public Writing, we were asked to revise a previous document that we had created for a PPW class for any combination of audience, medium, genre, or purpose. I chose to revise a 15-page case study report that I wrote for my Survey of Rhetoric class in Spring 2024. The original audience for this case study was scholarly with a lot of the material focusing on analyzing the case study of the Coosa River through the lens of rhetorical theory. So, I revised this document for genre by altering it from a researched case study to a news article with a new audience being the general public/citizens of Alabama. The purpose shifted with this change as well, going from a rhetorical study to an article looking to raise awareness and give general information rather than specific statistical content. I have linked the original case study above as well as linked a button to the online publication of the mock news article.

Our final project for this capstone class was to write a 2000-3000 word research paper that conducted research in the field of writing studies. I chose to research and write about the growing presence of AI in College Academics, drawing on autoethnographic and interview research from my experience at the Auburn University Miller Writing Center and with other Miller Writing Center consultants. This paper explores the context for AI use in the classroom as it affects students' transition into the workforce, the challenges of AI policing through the technology available, and the changes in student attitude in response to AI-based plagiarism accusations that have caused students to become defensive writers.
Reformed University Fellowship
|
As a part of Auburn University's Reformed University Fellowship's (RUF) Ministry Team, I create the weekly handout for our organizations Large Group on Monday Nights. Large Group is a time for all of RUF across years to come together for fellowship, worship, and learning. I designed our handout to contain all the important information circulating RUF, like how to get involved with interest groups and bible studies as well as events, and sermon notes to allow students to engage with the Bible as they listen to that day's teachings. My responsibilities include coordinating with group leaders to collect information, print and quality check handouts before Large Group (including accurately anticipating attendance numbers), and help distribute them to RUF while providing an open, inviting greeting to all students attending. An example of one of these Large Group handouts is linked to the right.
